Firefox GreaseMonkey Userscripts / Opera User Javascripts

The GreaseMonkey extension for the Firefox browser gives it's users a level of control over the web pages viewed in the browser. Opera now has improved XPath support. The GreaseMonkey Userscripts that are known to also work in Opera are indicated below.

Chrome Sentry

If you see the GreaseMonkey "on" image here - - Then you are using an older version of Firefox and have the GreaseMonkey extension installed because the image is from your chrome folder.
You should upgrade your version of Firefox.

Really Valid?

A modified version of the userscript from www.oreilly.com/catalog/greasemonkeyhks/, this script checks if pages claiming to be valid (X)HTML really are.

Toot-O-Matic tutorial

The IBM developerWorks site offers a Java tool, the Toot-O-Matic, for creating tutorials from XML files. However, the download was not without problems. This tutorial, created using the "Toot-O-Matic" provides solutions for some of those problems, and also provides a new self-test feature. the Toot-O-Matic with Java 2 v1.4.2_05

Anti-SPAM

Encouraged by the WordPress anti-SPAM techniques' success at keeping away the SPAM robots, similar precautions are now also used to protect the phpBB2 forums. Part of this success can be attributed to screening a user's IP address against IP lists of known attackers.
