| This series of 19 photos were taken on Mar 23 2000. The Meadow. A special kind of place in that it is often very wet in the Spring. Is this because the meadow is not Till (non-sorted to poorly sorted, non-stratified mixture) but (well laminated silt, sand and clay) Terrace deposits? The laminated deposits could impede downward water flow and help keep this area wet. This condition favors certain plant species. Look in the walk photos to see Alder trees preparing to blossom. | |||
