By following the Metacomet - Monadnock trail north from Mount Tom, one will reach Goats Peak Tower where the nearby Connecticut River cuts through the basalt ridge. As can be seen, the tower provides spectacular views of Easthampton, Northampton, and the surrounding communities of the Pioneer Valley.
